Mobile Phone Policy - Staff, Visitors and Parents/Carers
The Tots' Clubhouse Nursery School Mobile Phone Policy
Our main method of communication with Parents/Carers is by telephone call or text message. Please be aware that text messages to the Nursery School phone may not be responded to outside of Nursery opening hours.
During the Nursery day there may be a delay in replies to text messages as staff are concentrating on working with the children.
Use of the Nursery School phone
Must not be used for any personal correspondence
Any text messages must be sent and signed off by the person sending them unless otherwise agreed.
Pictures of children can be taken on the Nursery School Phone, these are transferred to the children's folders at the end of each month and emailed to parents in the Monthly Email.
We only text photographs to Parents/Carers in situations of accidents that the parent requests to see (following a telephone call) e.g for reassurance.
We only send a picture if a Parent/Carer requests after their child has been upset at drop off or settling in.
We do not send daily photos or updates of children during the Nursery day.
There are designated times for example, Halloween, Easter with the Easter Bunny, Christmas with Santa, Graduation and Sports Day where we may send photos via text message.
Staff in the Nursery Setting
All mobile phones should be on silent and in designated room locker. Phones kept in locker at all times when working with the children.
Requests can be made if urgent phone calls are expected where a phone can be on loud.
Phones can be removed from the locker at breaktimes and used in staff car, breakout room and offsite (not in the vicinity of the children)
Staff should not:
Take photographs/ videos within the setting, call or text parents from their own mobile phones.
Staff mobile phone use on trips
All staff are required to carry their mobile phones at all times on a trip - safety/ emergency etc.
They must remain in their pocket/bag unless receiving a call from the Nursery School Manager or another member of staff who is working that day.
The work phone should always go on the trip, any calls going to the Nursery phone about other children in the setting should be relayed to the manager via a telephone call.
Photographs should be taken on the work phone during trips.
In the unlikely event that there is an emergency resulting in a photo needing to be taken on a staff phone, the photo must be sent to the Nursery School phone
